Before we begin exploring the role women play in PR, lets take a brief look at what PR really means

 

Definition: Public Relations

       

aPublic relations has many characteristics, such as, research, analysis, policy information, programming, communication and feedback from various publics.

         

aPublic relations is the management function which evaluates public attitudes, identifies the policies and procedures of an individual or an organization with the public interest, and plans and executes a program of action to earn public understanding and patience.1

       

aPublic relations is the management function that identifies, establishes, and maintains mutually beneficial relationships between an organization and the various publics on whom its success or failure depends.2

         

aPublic relations is a communication function of management through which organizations adapt to, alter, or maintain their environment for the purpose of achieving organizational goals.3
